Understanding odds in three formats
Betting sites generally use three types of odds formats — decimal, fractional and American. The examples below explain each one.
Example 1 — the same odds in three formats
Assume a ৳200 stake on team A to win:

American minus odds (-200) means you need to stake ৳200 to make ৳100 profit. On a ৳200 stake the return is ৳300 (৳100 profit).
Remember: Decimal odds are the most straightforward for most bettors in Bangladesh — stake multiplied by odds equals total return. All three formats look different but express the same probability for the same match; only the way they are presented differs.
Live in-play betting — odds change when a wicket falls
LIVE
You can place bets even after a match has started — that is in-play or live betting. In cricket this is a particularly engaging experience, because odds are recalculated after every over or whenever a wicket falls.
For example, if three wickets fall for the batting team in the 10th over of a T20 match and the total runs are relatively low, the bowling team's odds of winning shorten (meaning they become the favourite). Betting on the bowling team at that point will give a lower return, but higher confidence.
Conversely, if the batting team scores quickly in the powerplay and keeps wickets intact, their chances of winning increase and their odds shorten. In live betting you have to decide in seconds, so watching the match live while betting makes it much easier to read the situation.
